Publication Ethics

The Journal of Digital Pedagogy and Learning Design (JDPLD) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. The ethical guidelines described here apply to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, and peer reviewers. JDPLD strictly upholds the values of neutrality, fairness, and honesty, ensuring that all publications are free from conflicts of interest, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.

Plagiarism Screening and Ethical Commitments
JDPLD strictly prohibits plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts undergo a similarity check using Turnitin software, with a maximum acceptable similarity limit of 25%. Furthermore, JDPLD is fully committed to upholding good publication practices and ethical standards as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The submission of a manuscript implies that the work has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published based purely on their academic merit and intellectual content, without any form of discrimination. Editors and editorial staff must guarantee the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts. They must not disclose any information to unauthorized parties and must not use unpublished materials for their own research without the author's explicit written consent.

Duties of Reviewers
Peer reviewers assist the editorial team in making objective publication decisions and help authors improve their work. Reviewers must treat all received manuscripts as strictly confidential documents. Reviews should be conducted objectively with clear supporting arguments, avoiding any personal criticism. Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and must decline the review assignment if such conflicts exist due to competitive or collaborative relationships.

Duties of Authors
Authors must present an accurate and objective account of their original research. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable. Authorship must be strictly limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. Authors must appropriately acknowledge the work of others, properly cite sources, and disclose any financial or substantive conflicts of interest. If a significant error is discovered in a published work, the author is obligated to notify the journal promptly to cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.
